AWESOME DAY!! Police button, Eagle button, V-Nickel, IH, Rosie, Tokens & MORE!

I had a great 2 hour hunt after work today at the new plantation spot I just started to MD.
I'm still hunting with a new Tesoro Silver Umax with stock coil for now. I finished up the front yard and scored an IH and a flat button, then worked part of the side yard. This section was HOT!!! I dug the coolest old button I've dug. By far my favorite and in fantastic shape. Almost all of the gold gilt is still there! I hit a large assortment today, and I was happy as a clam today. ;D
I won't bore you with details. Here's my finds for today:

*"POLICE" button (22mm) with gold gilt - Back mark is "A. Jacobs & sons - Baltimore MD." (circa 1915)
My best button ever!

*Eagle button (22mm) - Back mark "City Button Works - New York" (circa early 1900's?)

*18mm flat button - Back mark "Best Colour"

*1901 "V" nickel in very worn shape, but it is my first "V" nickel ever.

*1904 IH

*1946 Rosie dime - my first in about 6-8 months!!! (I mostly find Mercs)

*1940 & 1954 nickels

*Wheats- 1919S , 28 , 45 , 52D (x2) , 57D.

*"City Bus Lines" bus token.
Any idea on the age of this token, and/or what city?

*Egyptian looking token - about the size of a dollar, but a bit thinner.
Any info on this piece?

*Decorative copper lamp piece (?) - it is threaded all the way through.

*A Ford Model A ignition piece.

*A large spike looking thing.
Any ideas what this is?

*Asst'd relics.

Ya-hooooo!!! What a fun dig.
Thanks for looking,
MM

Was wondering if you sent copies of the letter asking for permission to hunt that area to the ones who sent you a pm in a certain time period(cant remember specifics)...I'm sure you were swamped with requests...never got a reply...no biggie though just curious to see how you worded it.

Continued success at the plantation HH

Shawn,
I'm sorry. I am getting a lot of requests, but that's o.k.
I e-mailed one to you over the weekend. I wonder what happened?
I'll try again.
Sorry & thanks. I'm glad you told me.

Nice hunt and variety MM! That last piece is a plow part, use for flattening and breaking up dirt clods on the fields and for scratching and bending coins and relics, LOL. I have a few of those as well. HH, Mike

Re: AWESOME DAY!! Police button, Eagle button, V-Nickel, IH, Rosie, Tokens & MORE!

That police button being the flat face style would date back to around the turn of the century or early 1900s up until about WWII. After that they were a two piece button with a stamped face and worthless. Being an ex cop I have seen several articles in police magazines about officers who collect that type of police memorabilia. I think it is worth around $50.00 or more to a collector. Nice find. Monty

Monty,
Thanks so much. I was wondering what it was worth. I would never sell it, but that's great info. This one is so cool, and in great condition with the gold gilt. It must have led a sheltered life? ;D

Re: AWESOME DAY!! Police button, Eagle button, V-Nickel, IH, Rosie, Tokens & MORE!

Some info on the bus token and egyptian piece thanks to PBK.
Thanks PBK!!!

Token:
The City Bus Lines token dates from the 1940's or 50's. These were actually used in two different citiesโ€” Jasckson, Illinois and Columbia, Missouri. Both were operated by a company called the Elm City Bus Line, which was granted a franchise in Illinois in 1942, and went out of business in 1955. Records indicate that 20,000 of the tokens were shipped to them on June 4, 1948.

The same Egyptian piece was found by another member too (RTDE3).
Here's the info on that post:

Yeah Doug, now that's more like it! ;D Very nice stuff. :) Those buttons and stuff really make for some interesting finds. Police button is great and I like the bus token.

V Nickel - I know I was excited to find my first. Yours looks like the typical dug V.

And of coarse it's always nice when you find at least one silver.
