so i took a road trip to two new parks today.. had a great go at it, despite someone calling in the fuzz.. seen him pull up, and just the run of the mill make sure Ur holes are filled. ( he told me someone called in and complained.. bet whoever it was was ticked that i did not get the toe :laughing9: ) i told him i am a pro, and we talked for a bit. then he said good luck and have a nice day!! few hours later i hit another spot on the travel home.. small park by a old Rock Island depot.. the park gave up some goods in mere minutes. had a IH in the 1st ten minutes of being there. and I pulled the SWIFT token 50 feet from the depot.. here it all is lots of nails, token, part of a coin purse ( no coins ), BSA pin, toy gun, silver ring, 1912, 1926, 1948d, 1956d Wheat's. 1884, 1904, 1906 Ih's. 1900, 1905s barber dimes.. 1960d Rosie.. so all n all a good Lil road trip!!! best of digs to all.. "I told him I'm a pro", now that's cool, calm and collective (no pun intended). I so need to use that next time the cops come out on me. Great finds, your the man!

Nice finds!

Way to stand up for yourself. Honestly, what causes people to feel compelled to call the cops on someone who is obviously doing no harm to anyone, just enjoying their day? :dontknow:

Very nice finds. I believe that the ring is a Cub Scout ring as well with the arrow and paw print. Could be wrong, I was never a Scout.

Re: your coin purse. I am not seeing an attachment for the "strap" for the purse, so it may indeed be a frog mouth coin purse, although a large one. If you can (and I assume so) go back to May 12, 2011 for a couple of photos of purses that may be similar to yours. Or not. But these were not coin purses but full purses, although "mini" purses as was the fashion of the time. Skinny women and tiny purses. Sorry I could not figure out how to add it here.

I guess that in my head, a coin purse goes into another purse, but that could be one of those regional things. Anyone else have a definition for a coin purse?

Do you have any maker's information stamped on the inside? That is how I found a lot of info. Well done on finding something unusual.

Nice finds. The Cub Scout pin is for a new Scout. I am not sure but the ring could be Order of the Arrow. Was this park at one time used for Scout functions or maybe as a campground. Anyway best of digging. Stan...
