Aztec wood carving?

Hello all,
I found this wood carving for sale but I’m unsure to buy it unless I can determine its origin. I’m positive that it’s a palm tree (which is not native to here) and it looks fairly old. Does anyone know what it could be? Thanks for the help!

It doesn't look like any aztec design I have ever seen. I agree its probably african
