How do you store or catalog your finds?

I just started in the hobby, and after a week I can see a need to sort, store, or throw away? I am interested to hear different thoughts on the matter, advice, or methods!
Thanks in advance 20180125_185632.jpg

I tumble and spend the modern coins, keep the old coins, save and sell for scrap the brass, copper, lead, and aluminum, keep whatever relics I think are cool, donate the toys I find, and trash can the rest.

I think that is the way to go. I was almost tempted to keep track of coordinates down to the item, but I'd rather spend the time swinging the machine.

Keeping a log, or at least and idea of where you make good finds isn't a bad idea. I have a little note book with that sort of info. I try to keep wedding rings matched with a particular area just in case I can return one and need info to make the match.
