I went to the dump for a lunch time dig and this place never fails to amaze me or give me some keepers

Today's finds

The stoneware container is awesome!! I can't find any info on it. Any one have any idea? Would love to know the age and the value of it.

That's debatable lol. We have found some blob tops but they have all been broken. Still haven't made it to the bottom layer yet. If you notice on a lot of the bottles the h is missing from the end of Pittsburgh. 1911 is when they started putting the h on. So they are post 1900 but not by much. Hopefully we can break into the lower sections soon and starting getting the really old stuff

Congratualtions on the beautiful bottles!

That overhang is a cave-in waiting to happen! Be very careful, we had to dig out two of our buddies when bottle hunting. The overhang collapsed and buried them to their waist, luckily no one was harmed. I will say, bottle digging is a lot of work and not for the lazy!

I was there the other day diggin with jerv3. Another member here. And we had a major collapse You can always tell when it's gonna happen because you can hear the cracking. It was a section about 10' wide 7' high 4 feet deep

As it was falling I ran down the hillside. I tripped and went head first right into the creek. Jermey was dying laughing and said he wishes he caught it on camera to post here lol

Tebbut is still in business as Tuxford and Tebbut I'd suggest contacting them to see if they can help you date the crock. It's really cool! I'm a big fan of fancy cheese and I'd love to find an old crock like that. My guess is pre 1900, but you may want to also post it in the What Is It section as "English Stilton Crock" and see if any of the U.K. members know anything about it
