Not actually new but its been a few years since I posted. Health has been kicking my ass, after a heart attack forced me into retirement from the Air Force, everything was good for a while.

Now I have been diagnosed with Afib, the med I'm on to control it will lead to me getting Pulmonary Fibrosis. The doc says it's not a if thing, but a when thing. Oh joy! Every 6 months I have to do a Pulmonary study to check if it has started. So the heart issues and meds make me intolerable to heat, heck I keep the house at 62 degrees during the Summer.

I also have Degenerative Disc Disorder now, apparently my back took a beating in the military. Makes it hard getting around in rough areas at times. So I haven't detected in a few years now, I've been concentrating my time on my military surplus weapons collection and getting range time in. No fun having a firearm if you can't sling lead with it. Plus I've been trying to catalog my militaria collection, like where it was acquired, who's it was etc.

Got a new phone and was transferring my favorites over and saw the TNET link and was wow haven't been on there in a while. So here I am..............

My toy collection thus far, they keep me busy, shooting, cleaning etc.

At last count we had about 10,000 rounds total. Of course in various calibers. So got plenty of lead to throw, or keep undesirables away from the house. LOL!

The back is just the latest of my ills, LOL!

My operational deployments:

1991 Operation Desert Shield/Storm
1996 Operation Joint Endeavor IFOR
1998 Operation Joint Forge SFOR
1999 Operation Southern Watch
2001 Operation Enduring Freedom
2002 Operation Enduring Freedom

Was a week from shipping out in late 2002 during the buildup for the pending 2003 Iraqi Invasion when I had the heart attack. At first everything looked good, but in 2006 my EF numbers did a 180 and dropped. Dropped to non life supporting level. Went from a 55% (Which is almost a normal number) post heart attack to 12%, the docs freaked out and I had to get an ICD implanted. The Air Force was yeah you're done. Got a medical retirement with almost 23 years at 100% disability. So at age 41 I was permanently retired and haven't worked since, due to VA Disability, Military Disability, Civil Service Disability, and Social Security Disability, was told I was never working again.

Kind of a tough pill to swallow at 41, went from busting my ass in the military to retired. 60 to 0 in 1 second, what do you do after that........didn't slow down at first, but after about 15 shocks from my first ICD, everyone convinced me to slow down. Was told in 2006 when I got the ICD that I would either be dead or have had a heart transplant by age 49 due to damage my heart had sustained. Turning 52 in December and still have the same screwed up heart I had in 2006. Guess I proved them wrong again.........

Give you an ideal how much I've had to slow down. Spent Memorial Day week in the hospital getting a new ICD and leads. Due to being mobile and energetic I actually broke the lead to my ICD. So since I had to have a new lead ran, they replaced the ICD too.

Glad to see you back! The back injury I sustained, caused me to not world wide duty qualified, so that ended my 28 year service.

Yeah that profile with the "No World Wide Duty" clause is a killer. I was grounded to home station even TDYs for schools had to be approved. Didn't join the AF to sit at home station behind a desk!

Going to be MIA again for sometime. Due to the significant damage we took from Hurricane Michael my priorities have changed. Looks as if my house might be done for. Took some serious structural damage when the house over pressurised, there are areas where the roof lifted off from the main house but remained in place.

See below link for some pictures taken during the eye, before the backside of the storm and tornadoes came through. House looked pretty decent at that time, not anymore.
