Larry and I stopped at a cornfield where at one time a one room school stood, I did well, I got a 1859, 1880 and a 1900 Indian, I'll get my new small coil this week and I believe I'll do better in the corn fields as it will get to places the larger coil won't. Going to Virginia to hunt relics for 8 days, I'll let you know what we find..........Lee

I agree with the small coil idea. I find that I can detect much closer to the severed corn stalks (which are still anywhere from 4-8 inches high in spots in the field that I have been detecting) Give that a try and good luck. And by the way.....nice finds. especially that fatty ;D
