Went back to the place I got the nice ring last weekend and a bunch of junk earrings for two hours Sat morning. I think I'll call this place earring lake from now on!

Managed a 0.5gram 14k hoop-ish earring. First gold earring for me.
Also picked up a 1.7 gram .925 stamped ring. Had been there for a while so I must have missed it the first time.

Plenty of junk earrings and some clad.

Sunday I went to a new spot and hit some oldies in the water.

1927 Mercury Dime, a pleasant surprise.
1944 and an unknown date wheats (yes, I cleaned the crap out of them... they were so corroded I could only guess they were wheats)
1942 Nickel... not silver though
Two religious pendants/medallions

Not a bad weekend for me. Only my second and third time in the water with the AT Pro. I love it! 8-11 small.JPG 81212small.JPG

Can you tell us how deep you were hunting and how far from the shore? Also, what was the lake bed like sandy, muddy, squishy? :dontknow:

Thanks everyone

I start on the edge of the roped off area, about 5-5.5 feet deep... and work my way in to about 3 feet deep (half way). My friend works from the shore to 3 feet deep with his 250 since he cannot get any deeper.

One spot is perfect... sand and clear water.
The second spot with the older coins is dark, murky water you cannot see 1 foot down in and clay/large rocks. The clay was packed VERY hard and I had to leave a few targets until I go back with a shovel to get through it. When I did get through, I had to break it up with my hand in the scoop it was so tough!
