Took the long hike out to my old cellar from last year..Man its a hike...


The weather was like summer and being that far out in the woods was like medication from the everyday Hustle of this insane world :tongue3:

Got my first 3 cent piece :hello2:

Got some cool suspender buckle..Colonial :dontknow:

The cutest lil button i ever seen ::)

Nice decorative button..

A 1781 Irish halfpenny crowned harp Hibernia :thumbsup:

Some beautiful pottery pieces..

A crushed blowhole button...You know your on a early site when you find a blowhole button ;D

I always tell my dog not to flinch when im taking his picture but kids today dont listen :)

A blowhole button is actually a 2 piece button that was soldered together..It will have 2 small holes in the back to allow the gas to escape :icon_thumleft:

These actually pre-date the colonial flat buttons...Right around the early 1700's..

Awesome finds! I know what you mean about getting out alone in the woods. Its necessary for sanity. I love that site. Looking at the photos you can almost see the buildings and hear the people.

It seems my crown is on an angle unlike all the other ones i see are straight up and down on top :icon_scratch:

Mine is counterfiet & they were often I believe so a weight would help or someone like Ip might could look & tell.Should weigh 9.09grams & you see what mine weighs.

Great finds! That pesky 3c piece is still on my list after 20 years of diggin.

I don't see a blowhole button there in your finds. I do see a two-piece ball button there though. Blowholes were one-piece I thought, with two holes in the back. Ball buttons are two piece.
