This happened to Larry Horvath (my husband) on Tues. evening about4 pm on the beach while walking towards Alexander's on the Bay. It was stilldaylight and he saw that the sand was a bit loose, but he did not noticeanything unusual in the sand until he sank in it up to his waist. It did scarehim. He contacted a worker and then he emailed the city, but the email did notgo through. I spoke to someone this morning who indicated that some of thebeaches (like bulkheaded areas) may not be safe at this time. A suggestion wasthat folks walk in groups and during the daylight hours only. If you seeanything else like this, please contact me directly or email the city.
