You ever watch a spider construct a web like those? It's amazing to see one go round and round connecting each tiny little string of silk so fast and precisely. I'm convinced that bugs, such as ants and spiders taught the first of mankind how to build monuments and weave baskets
Yes. When I think about how skillfully they weave these beautiful creations, I have to feel sorry for anyone who wants to attribute it to "chance" or "evolution".
We'd be hard pressed today to create a multi million dollar machine that could create something so beautiful, strong, yet delicate as quickly and efficiently as this tiny creature does.
Makes me think of this statement by King David:
"I praise you because in an awe-inspiring way I am wonderfully made.
Your works are wonderful, I know this very well.
My bones were not hidden from you. When I was made in secret,
When I was woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes even saw me as an embryo; All its parts were written in your book
Regarding the days when they were formed, Before any of them existed."
I don't know if all orb weavers do it, but last fall I had one by my back porch. Late evening it would begin building the web, and by dark it was complete. Come sunrise, the spider had taken it all down. It did this routine every night. Amazing.
