Went back for 2 hours today to cover some more of the old ball field that I have hunted on and off all summer. Didn't get much, but found my first token, and a Bahamanian nickel. That's the second Bahamanian coin I've found this summer (found a quarter in a school yard), and the 5th foreign coin. The token isin't all that old, I'm guessing 60s or 70s, but it was my first, so it's good!! The token is a bit bent, and says "Providence, RI, USA" on one side, and "Money Meter Inc., Fare Collection Equipment" on the other.

Pic below, and HH!

No Jeff, no subway here. I'm thinking either a bus or trolley token. There was an old trolly line that ran within a few hundred yards of where this ball field is. It carried passengers from Providence down to the old beach resorts that were in my town (Rocky Point Park and Oakland Beach) back at the turn of the century. But I don't think it's old enough to be a trolley token, as the trolley lines around here all disappeared back in the 30s and 40s. All of the bridge tokens here in RI are marked with the name of the bridge, so I don't think it could be one of those. I've done a Google search on the "Money Meters Inc" name, and came up with nothing, so maybe I'm wrong and it is older. I'll do some more research on it, who knows, it may be older than I think. Thanks!

It Reminds Me of the Trolly (TRAIN) Tokens From the Late 1800's around Here.

However Being You Dated it Circa 60's at first I thought SUBWAY.

You MAY be Supprised at its Age? ;)
