No idea. This area I found it is by the spot gold was discovered in California so it was lost by a old gold prospector out here looking to make his millions.

Great finds! Pretty sure the mechanism is a percussion and not a flintlock, but it's still a sweet piece of pioneer history.

Probably a model 1842 single shot percussion pistol. Would've been fairly common during the Gold Rush. Part of the lockplate is broken off, so it will be difficult to confirm the ID.
