barber dime +

went out with the wife and a buddy today,, she got the 1898 dime in a half hour,and finished the day with the 50 cent piece 1978 new pence.. all i got is the thing on the bottom, any ideas ?? it reads nyc on one side and 3x cc on the other ,i think,, looks to be lead

Nice finds! The NYC lead thing looks like a lead bag seal for possibly seed, grain, salt etc. Should have two openings on the edges where a string or leather strap would have gone through. They were widely used here in Germany from the mid 1700s and earlier to the mid to late 1800s. HH, Mike
