I use for my backup battery packs the generic alkaline cell from a local chain store, avoiding the big name brands due to the extra $ cost. I've never had a leaker yet but always be safe and don't leave batteries in your detector for prolonged periods.

I use the Duracell Quantum. More expensive, but I am impressed with the mileage I get out of them. So, maybe cheaper in the long run.

Thanks for all the help.
I just found some info to a test...
Battery Comparison Test Data
I dont know how accurate it is but thought I would share.
Thanks again and I still want to hear what seems to be the best for you to depend on.

I've noticed that my detector cuts out automated alarm way before the battery is what I would consider being very flat even at like 1 point 3 volts by my volt meter, so its really hardly worth it to spend the extra $ for the big name batteries in my opinion !!!

I use Dollar Store batteries. Was only using Lio but to be honest I was always loosing them so I just stacked my rig out with the low cost ones and never looked back.(although the Lio's did a great job)

BJ, wholesale and probably Sams club have store brand batteries that are reasonably priced and last as long as the name brands. I get the manufactures run time from my Coinmaster GT using these batteries if that is any help to you.. but if you don't have a BJs near by and are not a member guess it wont..

Sounds great. Thanks for all the responses.
At least Im happy knowing that if I go with a less expensive brand then it sounds like I wont be making a huge mistake.
I will do more shopping around now that I feel more comfortable.

I mostly use Alkaline batteries "standard" type. I've yet to see proof myself for expsensive batteries to keep out longer then cheaper ones
