Hi,
I need some help. I am new to this and I have been trying different settings on my MD. I would like to look for gold (rings) and coins, but every time i go over wet sand it doesn't seem to work as well. I will lower the disc number, but I never seem to find anything unless it is in dry sand. If you have this kind of MD, what numbers do you suggest setting everything on.
Thanks for the help!

The only settings you can use with the 1236 for the wet saltwater sand is to turn down the sensitivity till it is not falsing as you move the coil. To find rings the sensitivity has to be low enough so you still hear the pull tabs. You have a good detectors and it is just not good in the wet sand. I have the simpler 1235-x and I don't waste time playing in the wet sand with it. I suggest a Pulse or Excal for the wet sand. Use a large coil and over lap the sweeps.
