A Sluice Goose marinated with beer, what bear could resist that. Guy's your are in there territory, read up on ways to not attract them. I run into bears all the time up on the Sultan, one I ran into I thought was a black lab and started calling to it, well it looked at me and I him, up a 150ft. bank he ran. Only time I was worried about a bear was when I was fishing above Horseshoe bend and caught a 15 inch trout and a 36 inch steelhead and while walking out I ran into a bear eating berries, fortunately he didn't see me, took a wide path around it. Watch your back at all times, especially when panning or running material threw your sluice, you are so focused on that results you fail to see what is happening around you. One old timer I met about 30 years ago warned me that if I run into him mining I should make a lot noise to warn him I am there or I may shot. Be aware of your surrounding's, you are not alone.
