For the Southeast Texas THers: Is metal detecting allowed in parks in Beaumont, Texas?

There should be a Beaumont Parks and Recreation department. They should be your first call. If that doesn't pan out, call the Beaumont police department and see if they even care if you "Teach your kid how to use his new toy metal detector in the local park". Most likely they will tell you that there are no rules, or if you are in San Antonio, they will direct you to where to get a Park Permit for free or little cost.
