I found this ring last week, was so busy didn't have time to post it, then got sidetracked by my buttons lol. Unfortunately I don't think it's real gold. There are no marks inside, but it doesn't stick to a magnet. I need to test it. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1464655683.641243.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1464655712.738042.jpg

Today I had a couple hours between work and taking the daughter to piano lessons, so I headed back to my button farm. I found a lot of junk, I'm digging everything. I think the button is just decorative, but the 1896 IH is really sharp. A curious gopher was very interested in me today. He was looking at me from across the yard, so I called him, came a little closer, stood up, I'd call, he'd come closer. This happened until he was only a couple feet away, then he'd scurry back to the old car in the yard. We did this five or six times haha, it was fun. I find plenty of old gold rings that have no markings. It sure looks old gold. Any jeweler will check it free of charge. Good luck.

Nice finds! Congrats!
The IH has great detail, and the ring looks good. It looks like it maybe an older piece, at lest the style is. Hope it proves to be gold!

The little rascal looks like hes waiting for you to dig up something interesting he can take off with!

Excellent gopher friend! And I love the CIHCE (Canadian Indian Head Cent, Egh).

I love when nature makes hunts more interesting and fun. Looks like you got a good one today with that rodent, lol.

Cheers and keep it up

ScubaDetector and Msbeepbeep- thanks, I will have a jeweller look at it. To me it doesn't seem "right", it's sort of light for its size too. Anyway I'll check it out.

Haha I love the CICHE, that's what I'll call them when I dig them now!

Good lord, I said "gopher", it's actually a 13 lined ground squirrel. EH!

Thanks loco, I think it's a heart stopper when dug, then a heart breaker when it's not real haha. I have all the dirt from the hole out in my garage, still have to sift it and see if I can find the stone.

Well done JC... that shiny yellow color is sweet! Congrats man.

That pic reminds me of the chipmunk pie I enjoyed as a boy in the country...

I wondered why the critter had stripes, but figured it was a different variety. :D
Ring is still a nice looking piece.

Hi; I believe the button is a Irish Naval Button from WW1. They were known to form their own Regiments at that time back to the Rev War ok.More so during the Civil War but yours is more Modern. Both are in GREAT shape. Button value: $15. Nice finds. PEACE:RONB
