Me and my son went out this beautiful weekend here in Ohio. I found the first silver of the year, it was a little tiny earring stud with a makers mark and it is shaped like the sun. I also found a pin and some old shotgun shells from around 1890 and one from around 1930. My son found a white gold ring with diamonds, it checked out at jewelry store they offered to buy it but the price was low enough he kept it. Smart move I think. So he has first gold of the year with a surface find. It has serious road rash(which is where he found it). Then he found a 1894 Barber quarter and he was so happy. I am glad he found it just to see how happy he was made my weekend. I hope you all got out in some form or other and had fun. 20160416_191001.jpg20160327_194233.jpg20160327_194158.jpg20160404_190832.jpg20160404_190846.jpg20160404_190946.jpg20160416_191026.jpg20160410_211116.jpg20160417_194630.jpg

Nice finds. Those Barber quarters are scarce. At least for me.

Scarce for me to, but I did so enjoy the weather so no complaints from me.

nice finds! i've been at work all weekend doing night shifts and sleeping these perfect days away. Just getting out there is a treasure in itself. Looking forward to my "weekend"!

Those really are nice. You and your son did a great job. Might try another jewelry store :hello2:
