This is a beautiful double-terminated Quartz specimen from Tennessee. I think photo #4 looks like mountain ranges. :laughing7: Thanks for looking! -Luke

First.. what you have is a Double terminated phantom quartz crystal point with slight indications of cathedrals

But as for saying it came from Tennessee.. what mine was this located?.. or was it found in a seeded bucket at a local gem mine in Tennessee?.. cause typically stones of this nature come from Brazil or Mexico.

This specimen was given to me for studying. My friend who found it told me it came out of the stream that runs through the stone quarry here in our county. This quarry is basically a huge cave. That is all I'm aware of, but I may be able to find out more. From what I've pulled out of the same stream, it almost wouldn't surprise me. I've found near flawless fist-sized Carnelian Agates, Topaz, Opals, Beryl and others. -Luke

I love the terminated Quartz you found! That is amazing.

This specimen is so much clearer than pictured. It's like a window and aside from the fractures on the outside, is flawless inside.

This is what I've collected for 4 years now in the Hot Springs Ar. area.
Forestry service has just about shut down any good public collecting mines though.
But I'll be back next month. Probably 11/6-11/13 if anyone is interested in meeting.

I have several clear and a purplish colored specimens from Tennessee. Cave blow outs found in creeks and arrowhead hunting. Yours is a nice one.
