Became a Rolled Coin Hunter today and didn't even go to the Bank
Hi to all,
And thanks to the Tnet mods and sponsors for this great forum and learning center. Well this morning I went out to a local school yard to do some swinging but unfortunately I didn't get started till about 9am. The temperature was about 95 already and when I finally quit about 1145am my temp gage read 102. If you haven' been watching the news it's been really hot in central Calif. this week. But anyways found the usual clad today, about $2.25, and a very interesting coin. The dfx hit on it and the VDI was about 72-76, so I dug it up from about 3 1/2 inches. I was expecting a dime but came up with this rolled up quarter. At first I thought it might be an electrical box slug but upon investigation I could see it was reeded on the edges and you can just make out GW's nose and part of the words "Liberty and In God We Trust".
It is rolled up as you can see in the pics but I don't believe this was don't by accident with the mowing or other yard machines used to keep up the grass. It looks like it may have been put in a vise due to some of the marks I see and the fact that it is rolled very neat and almost perfectly. What do my fellow Tneters think?
Oh well I just thought this was an unusual find and a weird way to get into Rolled Coin Hunting.
Thanks to all in advance
