Yoweee! I saw one of those while mowing and I shouted out, even though no one was around. I stopped the tractor and waited for the thing to finish his business.

If that's what I think it is, they can bite as well as sting. They'll leave two little fang marks. Ask me how I know. ::)

I wasn't sure, I thought maybe it was just a big black and white Hornet.

Think I may have seen some like the one above... if that's possible for my location.

I picked up a dead cicada killer wask here last week. We had those 17 year cicadas here in May and early June, but are now getting a few of the annual cicadas. Should be pleanty for them to sting and take bto the wasp cave.
