Hey all. Well it's been several months, but I got back out. And at my new house even. Took the ACE350 in the back woods and in 5 minutes I got a great sound, so I thought. I pulled up a square nail. Then I saw this peeking from inside the hole. It came out in 3 pieces. I have them set together here for the pic. I also found around 15 bottles and a leather soled shoe with this. I will be getting more pics soon of the bottles. I had to share. It felt great to get back out. The rain here in Delaware has stopped my hunting for now. But I know there is more around the depression I found these in.
Any ideas?
Thanks all!!!

Ok. Well I dug some more. I've been really busy and have had no time. And it's been some strange weather. So I found 4 little milk glass bottles. They have metal tops that say "Talcolette Cold Cream" on them. There are also some other milk glass bottles. The same size, but have grooves down 2 of the 4 sides. I am having trouble posting pics for some reason. I'm going to keep trying.

I did a little search and found out that all those bottles are Talcolette, Just different styles. However, I could not find any that were milk glass. All were clear, like the tall ones I pictured, in the search results.

The mason jar top has a leather or some type of material over metal. It is a Otterson and Voorhies fruit jar lid used on Woodbury jars. "Patent Nov 25 '84"

The bottom items were also in the hole. Some iron stuff, a shoe horn and a metal door knob.

Upon further investigation I found some things out. My wife and I just bought this house. It was built in 1987. The woman who sold it to us was the original owner and builder. She told me that she knew of the depression in the woods, but never thought anything of it. Well after looking, I figured out it is a actually an old burn pit. She also said she doesn't really know if another house was around this area. So I'm still looking. I would think a dwelling of some sort would be close by.

I have dug some more and have uncovered about 50 more bottles, metal pieces, ect. Most are broken and the metal is rusty. I'm hoping I find something good. I did find another depression in the back of my property that is a rectangular hole with, what appears to be, an area where there could have been steps. Once this snow disappears I'll be back at it.

Have you checked it out on historicmapworks overlay? Might give you some more info. I'm in Lincoln, about 40 minutes north of you. Here's a link
