I was until the meltdown of US, China's biggest consumer; so I am offloading as quick as my Daihatsu can take my scrap to the yard which is only 3/4 mile away.
Car bodies are fetching $80/tonne today, but I got a surprise about car batteries that have increased 2c / lb

PVC wire is still holding at $1 / lb but Al cans dropped from 90c to 60c.
I forcast massive price drops of 100% or more over next few months as one company after another falls over in the States.

My advice is dump what u got

Have not checked prices in my area lately but I assume they are down. I'm going to pile my scraps up and wait for the cycle to come back around. If an emergency comes up I will use it as my "emergency fund"

I absolutely do not intend to allow price fluctuations to make me run frightened.
