??? Ok silly questions; all in one shot? silhouet of pine tree? color? B&W? used as actual photo as is or watermarked? etc? Maybe share your description or the poem so I have a better idea. I am always messing around with night shots and I certainly can try and get one next full moon..... I am a total hack with a camera but I certainly would try. I put a sample of a tidal water area just after dark extended exposure with silhouets of the hillside area here in Maine just for kicks.

Sorry.
Yes, all in one shot.
Color or BW, it doesn't matter.
Pine tree silho-etted against night sky with a big old bright star .
I will pm you the poem.

Well, don't hold your breath as I would not want you to pass out waiting, ;D LOL, but I will try and mess around with that one for you later this month when the moon is right. I look forward to getting the poem so I can picture what I am trying to get for you.

Hi Ashleen,,,
I saw your post this morn'n, so I thought I would see what I could come up with...
I actually took this shot during the day, then photo edited it, and added the star...
Is this close to what your looking for? I would have liked to have seen a little twinkle in the star, but couldn't get it to look right... Also, this is a portrait shot, (Taller than Wide). Would you want it like this, or would you rather have it as a landscape,(Wider than Tall).
Tree_Star_Screen_Size.jpg

I didn't like the tree I used, but couldn't find another one around here that looked any better. I'll see what else I can come up with tomarrow... Also, this is a screen size pic, I do have the original that is much bigger, if you like it, and would like to use it...
Have a great day, Leon...

UPDATE: I updated the pic with a bigger star...

Leon + Someguy,
hmmm....I never thought about daytime and photo editing. I'd probably mess it up, tho.

Ahleen,

I have a couple drafts here for you on what you were looking for. Let me know if either one works for you or I will continue to work on it. I can do a different photo, layout, text style or other. (obviously I will remove the green squiggles in the final! LOL) Just let me know what you think. Once we get what you are looking for then I can send you the final word doc of the completed project and a copy of the photo for you to use for anything else you want to.

Have a great evening!
Nick

Hey Ashleen
For the text, I used a program called "PhotoImpact", it came with the software package for the computer when I bought it. It's a fairly expensive program but you can download a free trial version on-line:

http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=us-Ulead/UleadProcessLayout&lc=en&ppg=CorelCorp/Trials/Login&pid=1171919683895&cid=1175714226726

I'm sure there are many other programs that will "add text" as well. There are also many places you can do it on-line... Google: " free photo editors to add text" .As for getting a copy of any of the pictures, simply "Right click" and "Save picture as". It will save the entire picture to a location of your choice...

Also, here's one I put together using my photo. I still don't like the tree, but haven't come up with any better, YET... ;D

I wasn't exactly sure how to brake down all the sentences. I'm sure you could come up with a better looking layout. I am definitely not a poet... Easy boys.... ;D
Hope you can come up with something you like. I'll keep looking for a better tree...

Never a stupid question Ash; you can use photoimpact; which I recommend if you like doing lots of graphic editing. I use PhotoImpact Pro which does the job nicely. Gives you complete control over manipulating photos/text/.gif animations etc. For your purpose, the washed out effect was done using MS Word and the image as a watermark. I know your on Mac so you might want to check the program(s) you used to open my Word .doc and .jpg file I sent to you. I will forward the other one to you today so you have both. No need to do a screenshot of what I posted for you as it usually is not as good as having the actual image file. If you are still having trouble, just give me a shout and I will do your mods on my PhotoImpact, no big deal I have a few days off.

Of course, like Leon said, you can always go on-line and get freeware of your choice for editing; just watch out for the adware that comes with a lot of them :'( :o

You can also be creative and turn it into an animation screensaver too. I messed around with it a little and created a .gif so you can see a sample of something like you could do. On here it is reduced and low quality so it will fit :'( but I will send you the original size so you can see it without it being choppy/small/low res. It is a .gif animation file. Nothing special; just a sample of the fun you could have with your poem. ;D

This is a painting of what you described. I can try to get a better pic of it if you're interested. My partner here at work painted it.

Still lookin'?

First one has some stars though not b/w. Finding it hard to find the combo you're looking for. But here's a few... nice to look at anyways.
