... or open it. Here's some of the first stuff from two properties I just started to detect. I think I scratched the coin sized disk. I have no idea what's inside the Colgate container yet. I thought it might be interesting to see if anyone can guess what the disk is, or what's inside the cream thing before I open it. This house was built in 1937, but the property goes back to before the Civil War. :D

I'd say the container is holding the remains of Colgate cream deodorant. The copper disk looks about the right thickness for an 1800's American copper penny. Just a guess though. Good luck with the cleaning.

Looks like a large cent to me. I'm going to guess braided hair variety. I'll even guess the year...I'll say 1849. Looks like you got a good spot there. Congrats!

Yup i would say a large cent as well, maybe the inside of the container will be full of coins "nice to wish right" keep us posted

The deodorant jar had only some deodorant in it. It smells pretty good actually. The coin thing turned out to be a token/fob that reads
"Stop Thief". Oh well...

I bet the deoderant today wouldn't last as long as that did. Use it while you can. ;D ;D I like that token!
