This is my first post here, so you'll all have to forgive my ignorance! :)

I have very recently taken up the hobby, and where better to start than my own back garden!

I live about 800yards from an 16th century castle, and about 900 yards the other direction from a 13th century monastry, so have no idea if this is earlier, or much much later. Maybe someone here could shed some light on it?

I found this bell about 2ft down.

I'm incredibly jealous of you already, and I don't even know you. How in the world did you manage to find a home there?

Maybe someone here could shed some light on it?

Crusader is the guy I'd wait for a response from for UK relics. Silver_Searcher is another, and it looks like he beat me to it. Welcome aboard, GL & HH 8-)

No, it's not stone, but I can't quite figure what it's made from. It is about 1 to 2" thick, about 10kg in weight. No clapper(?) inside.
