Re: Bell's Palsy?...

I have - and it took about 3 weeks to stop looking like Popeye (drooping mouth on left side), and about 4 weeks for my eye to get back to blinking correctly.

Have they done a test to see why you had an attack? Sometimes, they can find a cause, which can be something as simple as a sinus infection gone wild, to a bad ear, to gosh knows what.

Don't know how old you are, but, I had mine quite awhile ago, and, when I had my stroke in 2004, I thought it was another attack of Bell's Palsey - it wasn't.

So, make sure you do what the doc tells you - try not to wipe your eye (I know, its a pain), and tear up a towel to put around your neck, so that the drool doesn't end up down your chest. (sorry, sounds horrible, but it helps).

It can also help if, on the side of your mouth that is drooping, if you hold it with a finger or two while you are trying to swallow or talk.
