Benard Matheson..Pirate....Yadkin/Uhwarrie treasure

I recieved a PM from "grg" on the site asking if I heard of the pirate Benard Matheson.........

"was wondering if you have heard of a Bernard Matheson.? This person was to have been a pirate and sailed his ship up the pee dee and entered the mouth of the uwharrie to bury his treasure.? This spot is to be haunted with the folks that he killed and buried with his treasure."

I've looked the web trying to find info on him with no luck. I live close to where the Pee Dee and Uhwarrie Rivers meet. Wouldnt mind checking it out.

Anybody else heard of this

did you find out any more on Bernard Matheson ?

I have been thinking of moving from the coast up to Uhwarrie and would be bring all my dive gear and detectors.

have you heard any more on this "Pirate" ? I have property In Carolina Forest which is on the Pee Dee and only a few hindered yards from where it meets the the Uwharrie. Way to shallow for any large Pirate vessel.
