Best Find For April 08'

The coin is a King George II and looks to be dated 1746...but it's tough to say for sure. Under the coin I found this gold band...both came from the same hole.

The band has no inscription or markings...is size 9 1/2, and is 3/8" wide. I will be taking the ring to a jeweler to find out the karat weight soon.

I have reason to believe the ring dates to the coin, but have no concrete evidence to back it.

Thanks for looking!

Good looking ring! Frustrating when you dig an old coin and have trouble with the date. Hope you can verify it.Thats half the fun! Good hunting.

Hey, nice find!

The hardest part is finding a place to hunt and getting permission from the owner. You seem to do pretty well. I'm in the Manchester area and finding good spots is very hard, but I keep plugging.
