better detector ace 250 vs white prism 3?

as a beginner view point is an ace 250 better or visa versa will hunt occasionally on dry sandy beaches some standing small pools of water and gerenaly eastern coast soil hunting.
What gives u a bigger bang for the money, which is more likely to find (more) stuff, should a beginner if they have the money move to a better machine in the $400 class?
(In other words so a person dosnt get fustrated should they go to a better machine ?)

I've never used a White's Prizm but I really like my Ace 250, which was my step up from a Bounty Hunter for Radio Shack Discovery 2000. The Ace 250 is a really awesome little Md'er for the $$. I paid $199.99 from Kellyco as a Dick's Sporting Goods price match. That was including shipping and freebies and I got it in 2 days.
