You have to set your eyes to see everything that doesn't belong. I looked a creek for bottles for many years before finding an arrowhead by chance. Then I had to wonder how many I missed because I had been looking for bottles. Now, I try to concentrate on points since they are smaller and more likely to have the same general colors as the gravel, with the mindset that if something bigger and differently colored like a bottle enters my field of vision, I won't be able to help but see it. Tough to do, because I find myself slipping back to seeing bottles and have to constantly remind myself to look for points. Hope this makes sense and will help you out, Tommy.
