went to an older home today found some goodies, a neat state of Ohio watch fob, cover from a pocket watch, ford key, organ reed, normal modern clad coins. Got 3 wheats, a 1936 mercury dime, 1943 silver war nickel, and my first EVER SILVER half dollar.......1950 Franklin, that made my day!

I got a half dollar signal on my detector, and every time I have ever had that is has been junk every single time........what a shock when I cut the plug, opened the hole and saw a big silver disk in the hole! It was less than 4" deep.

Awesome! The Franklin Half - one of many coins still on my wish list. The new site I just got permission to hunt has high potential for some silver half dollars, so I am really hoping for one of these!!!!

Nice finds!! I have found "two" Franklins but the Walkers and the Barbers have eluded me. Those are on my wish list. The Franklin that I found in PA. looks just like yours, like the day it went in the ground, the one that I found in CT. is all blackened?? I'm thinking it's the acidity in the soil here in CT. Any thoughts? Rich M.

have you tried to clean the black one? You might try baking soda and water, since it is not a key date, why not improve the looks of it ?
