Hello GatorBoy. Not what you were hoping but still a good find. Silver Springs has been an attraction for a long time...any idea on how old it is? Hope it brings you good luck. C9

It brings back memories of going to Six Gun Territory and Silver Springs when I was a kid in the 70's. Anyone know when SGT closed?

Nice finds GB!

I'm not exactly sure of its age but I can say it was found close to and about the same depth as this 1925 buffalo nickel I found right before it.
Its not new I know that much

It's Florida's oldest tourist attraction... The glass bottom boat tours started there in 1878 it was closed down September 15th 2013

I didn't know it has closed as a tourist attraction and reopened as a state park. I visited it in 2008 with my kids.

I actually think that's going to be great for the ecosystem in the area so much silt was being generated by all the commotion at that place it was deteriorating conditions in the spring run for a long long distance.
I only went there once and never went back to me it was a nightmare of screaming kids and vending machines.... nature area gone bad.. The spring didn't even look like a spring anymore looked like a concrete pond
