Hi all,
I saw another empty house up the street that was for sale so I called the real estate agent to get permission to check it out..boy did I have fun! The variety of items recovered was quite interesting and tells quite a story about the families who had occupied the house since it was built in 1959.
Pictured above is what I found today after about 2 hours swinging the coil:
5 toy cars/trucks
5 keys
1 rifle casing
1 plastic smiley face ring
1 kid's heart locket
1 zipper
1 fishing weight
1 shield medallion
1 metal Barbie heart
1 plant ID tag
1 brass hose nozzel
4 wheat pennies
About $2 in clad including a Bicentennial Washington.
The wheats are 1941-P, 1944-D, 1946-S and 1949-P. I hoped for some silver, but not this time
This was my best find though, a redline Hot Wheels Custom VW. It really brought back some memories and made me smile.
I have 2 of these in my collection (but in MUCH better shape!) This model was one of 16 cars that began the Hot Wheels line in 1968..I was thrilled to find it..this historic piece of Hot Wheels history was probably buried for 35 years. This particular car (lime-yellow, USA model) would have been worth $90 to a collector today in mint condition.
