Or better yet just outlaw pull tabs in general and go back to using those punch type bottle opener like they did way back when to open beer cans.

Of course then everyone will want to know how to set there machine to ignore bottle openers and someone in every one of those post will inevitably say "don't disc out the bottle openers or you will miss the silver"

I disagree with getting rid of pull tabs. When I find a pull tab I know I am where people have been and by the style of the tab I can age the area. Also when my detector is finding tabs, I know it will find 90% of the gold rings. For the other 10% I need to be able to find the foil too.
