Read the Land Matters Tutorial Demystifying the LR2000 HERE.

You will find more useful tutorials on using the LR2000 HERE.

If you want information on current active claims you can access the LR2000 information for each claim directly from the Land Matters Mining Claims Maps without filling in any forms. A few clicks and you have the whole claims report right from the map.

the old GeoCommunicator map is gone here is the BLM introduction to access the LR2000 database

&

if you want to search by map some dedicated individuals convert that database twice monthly to an interactive mapping page.
My Land Matters - Mining Claims Maps

Reading a map is something that is very important i.e. MTRS(meridian, township, range, section)

a good tutorial I found on the PLSS (Public Land Survey System) descriptions
