Hope you are feeling better. Nasty stuff. I got it once in high school. Even had the red streak going up my arm. The streak gave it away. Good luck and quick recovery.

your own urine is sterile ;)

Actually, no it's not. It is sterile while in the bladder, but the end of the urinary tract (distal urethra) is NOT sterile. As a veterinarian, I perform many "free catch" urinalyses a week and expect to see bacteria in the urine. Urine collected via the bladder with a needle through the abdomen (via cystocentesis) SHOULD, however, be bacteria free.

I carry a marine grade first aid kit in my truck all the time. It's got most of your basic supplies and has helped me a couple of times. If I remember right I got it at wally world for around 20 dollars

Dang, those must be them bionic bacteria. I would have thought the shower at the truckstop would have cleaned the wound to some degree.

You get well now!

Sure hope you recover quickly!

I was once darn near bullet proof...
not so much, anymore.
Takes longer to heal.

Stay away from hospitals and doctor offices!
Sick people go to them places.

Father-in-law went in for some cutting and got a staph infection that was a real bear!

And we got surfers coming down with sickness from time to time they just can't shake, for months...

Nice T truck, there in the snow...
I learned how to drive one similar, about 10yrs ago.
It was a '26 or '28 (can't recall, they said it was last year) and had electric starter.
The bands were good, brakes fair, and I really enjoyed driving it around town.
I had never really known... 1st gear IS too low, and HI is flying in excess of the brake capability!
