Hi all, With resent heavy autumn rains, i decided to try digging a bottle dump in the bank of a creek, just below a general store. On the gold diggings all camps and structures were bulit on the high flat ground about 40 feet away from the creek. The general store was used between 1854-1920. Closed down when the gold ran out. The banks of the creek are not natural, mostly made up of tailing clay from mining. Old shallow shafts made for good dump holes after use. This was a common practise. Did a few hours mding until the speaker wire broke. Got tangled in the under growth and dead trees. So spent the rest of the day bottle digging. Here my bottle finds and ring and one small piece of gold.

Cool bottles, Tinpan :icon_thumright: You got that elusive Codd (at least for me). I've always found them necked >:( including 2 rare ones. One guy invited me to dig out a tip on his property and he told me that he picked whole Codds on the surface but I had to return to Melbourne that day. 3 months later I returned to find out that he sold his estate.

hi tuatara, same here most Codd's were smashed to get the glass marbles. Kids :laughing9: :laughing9:
