Hello there everyone it's been a fun couple days of digging :hello:
Decided to do some probing around what I would call a Workers House that was associated with a huge home that belonged to a very wealthy person back in the late 1800's. We were not sure what we would get into but it turned out pretty darn good. Started out digging a root infested pit that we took care of with the axe! The pit felt kinda iffy at best but then started to feel better the further we dug. Got down around 5 feet or so before we even hit any glass. :(

But then it opened up and Don got some small medicines and some salt and pepper shakers. It seems as though the family broke the larger pieces of the set and then decided to just toss the shakers in because they did not match with the new stuff they got. At least thats our thinking :dontknow: Don pulled out a ZoaPhora Womens Friend from Kalamazoo Michigan. Never found one of these before so that was cool. Then he pulled out the sample size, the Bifecta :headbang: if that's a word!! :tongue3:

I got down in the pit and pulled out the Mull's Grape Tonic and several other blank medicines. I think I found the smallest perfume ever. It fit in the palm of my hand ;D We finished up this pit and had time to probe for another one for the next day. Luckily it only took a minute or two to find one about 5 feet from this one. So it was on, as they say, the next day.

This pit felt great but we know that this usually turns out bad. Started out finding a knit blanket about a foot down :icon_scratch: A first for us....but that surely means this pit will fizzle to nothing! >:( It was loaded with coal ash for about 5 feet and then we hit a hard as rock dirt cap. We probed this and found a small gap beneath the cap. A void in the base that felt like something of a minor use layer. So Don broke through and saw our first glass of the day. Turned out to be a Potter Drug & Chemical Corporation bottle from Boston. It was The Cuticura System of Curing Constitutional Humors! What the heck is that....it made us laugh of course just at the name. Kinda humorous :laughing9:

Then it was my turn in the pit and I came across what we always search for, a beer bottle from the 1880's. I saw the words "Not to be Sold" on the back of the bottle and carefully removed the bottle from its compacted tomb of rocks and dirt. It came out perfect :headbang: A FH BOOS Milwaukee Best blob beer!!! I was stoked after that. Then Don pulled out an Amber Toledo beer of Grasser and Brand but it was chipped up a bit. >:( We did finish out the pit with some plates and a couple soap dishes. Found two bone brushes and a pipe. So it ended up nicely before the rain hit. Now its time to do some cleaning before our next trip out! Hope ya like all the pics(36)...We sure enjoyed visiting the dirt down under again. Hope to see you again soon  jgas

The Citrate of Magnesia is an older version, blob top style that dates to around 1890. I think it may be the oldest version that we have found. Thanks for the replies, jgas
