8) okay, so winter is boring, but it's a great time to scope out some new spots.
while walking through the woods the other day, i found a mound of dirt. never saw the mound before, due to the lush green woods. now since nothing is green, it was easy to spot the mound. I proceeded to pull out a digging tool, and poke into the mound. it was froze solid, even after several pokes around the mound, I could not budge the frozen soil. good news is as soon as the weather warms up, i've got a new place to poke at. maybe a nice old bottle dump? maybe hidden treasure chest ? only time will tell....
Map of Gen. Washington's Battle Engagements in 1776
The original of this map was printed in 1777 in England during the Revolutionary War. It depicts, in particular, the battles of Long Island and White Plains, and shows battle losses by America's General George Washington.
I've got tons of historical local maps that I spent years researching of De and Md ref the Revolutionary, War of 1812, and Civil War . . . many of the once accessible places are now off limits or developed. . . . if I only knew back 35 years when I started MD'ing what I know now!
