I believe this may have contained a dental hygiene product called “Zhongiva” and that style of clear glass bottle dates to the 1910s. Here’s an advert for it from 1913:
I think James J. Ottinger died in 1914 and the business changed hands at or shortly after that time. Certainly by 1927 the product was being made by the John H. Wood Company of Philadelphia, not by Ottinger.
