Truly an intriguing if not troubling discovery. Thanks to all the research from fellow T-net members in bringing some clarity to this very mysterious and dark riddle. Congrats on the BANNER as well! Super COOL find!:headbang:

I'm currently watching the unabomber series on the discovery channel, wow did the fbi have some clueless people in charge of that investigation, they badly needed the members of this forum :-)

Just my two cents on this incredible find.

The quarry was also the site of the Rochester State Hospital (Asylum) opened as Minnesota Inebriate Asylum in 1879 (for Alcoholics)
With the Quarry and the Hospital there were supporting businesses and farms that sprung up to support the town, dairy, farm and a Slaughtehouse among them. Thus the notes being written on tickets for a butcher,

what I deciphered

Although I initially thought the note was about a robbery I am actually beginning to think it is the story of a disgruntled worker who felt he was "robbed' of a promotion for whatever reason and in his drunken rage felt that the person writing the note was partly responsible and wanted him dead. In his drunken rage he also wanted to kill his boss and anyone in his way of the promotion.
Fearing for his life the author of this note wrote the events as evidence in the event he was found in his hiding place.

Just my thoughts, Interesting either way.

Close :

I think this is closer.
I also Think YOHRADRICK (spelling) is a place

He doesn't write well, clearly.
Wonder in the Norwegian name is spelt phonetically like
Joleik = yohedrick (sp)

Or Jo Hedrick for yohedrick ( maybe writer was Norwegian which could explain the writing style )

Most interesting find and note. Reading it over it seems that it's a rant either in a drunken state or by somebody that trying to write down the facts and leave evidence.

There's one thing to note that the average person living around that time would of had an elementary education. Going on past grade 6-8 would be for the folks that were of some wealth or had the educational support in place. So that being said the written note is of a person with these elementary skills.

Congrats on the really unique find and the banner nod to which you have received.

I think the last 4 Letters are drik Definitely ik at the end .
he made a correction on the one Slip enhancing the K
and Notice he Dotted the I with a Quick c Mark.
Had to be within Driving Distance if he took the Milk Wagon

I find a Frank Hubechek 1910 living in the house of John Wagnor in Chippewa Falls
his wife and two young children are living there to Frank is listed as servant, and his wife Mary
is listed as cook.

He is buried in wadena county Minnesota along with his wife Mary Frank Hubachek Jan 24 1876 - Feb 23 1951.

Rain pounding us here in spring texas and much more to come, this house has never flooded
but theres lots of new construction going on all around, i dont think we have ever seen as much rain
as they say we might get between now and thursday either.

I am using free ancestory sites and they arent working right, i can only get to the index but I am going to keep on keeping on.

If the auther of the note was writing by the way names sound here are some possible corruptions--

Kendy Holets Rolland
Kenny Oullette Roland
Kenedy Rowland
Kennedy Rohland
Dont get me started on the one that Starts with a Y

So I don't have to re-read this whole thread if somebody could update the progress of what the letter is in a paragraph I'd really appreciate it.

Very interesting mystery, congratulations on the find! :icon_thumright:

Apparently kidnapping and robbery were pandemic during this time period in Chippewa Falls. Found this article about a big one, related? The one thing that caught my eye here was the name of the Chief of Police, Ed Holtz. Any relation to the "Joe Holtz wife" in this story? Cover up? Cops running a robbery ring and this poor fellow stumbled onto it? Hmmm... :icon_scratch:
