That concept applies to all of us when we go metal detecting. Sometimes we come home with $2.37 in clad and spend $5.00 in gas. I’m sure you had similar days and if you say you haven’t then I guess I have to take your word for it.

Nevertheless it’s also wrong to assume. You have no idea if he went to the recycling place to take some stuff as well or found something else. He only reported on the gold leaf. If that is the case then it was a a good day. Also if we all lived with the “sky is falling “ theory or “I’m a realist and don’t want to waste my time” we never would have gotten in to this hobby.

sell it t to a glass blower or something, you will get a better price like 1 or 2 bucks a sheet

Sorry i dont go by if the glass is empty or half full B.S.To me,it all depends what youre doing with the glass at the time.No opportunity there is there for you because its my glass.As for the rest of your post.The OP reminds me of the scratch ticket lottery players spending 2000 bucks on tickets,they win 1000 and they think theyre ahead.Reality has a way of kicking people in the butt sometimes doesnt it?Also,you are assuming in your own post sooooo?
