Where: Northwest Ct
When: 27 August 2013
Used: White's Pulse induction, water proof probe, 12 volt Hooka machine, BCD, 30lbs of weight and 7mil wet suit.
Weather: Cloudy with sprinkles then intermittent sun wind 5 mph, water 68 degrees Air temp 70ish.
Depth:4 to 10 feet / fresh water.
Time: 0600-1145 actual water time.
Finds: 2.25 in quarters, 1 dime , 2 nickles, 1929 Wheat cent and a peace copper ring, lead weights, lures, odd old fishing weight with a hole at top and Boy Scout Knife.

I am on annual leave this week (whooowho) :hello2: and ran out the door with the damp humid weather front blowing through early AM. Drove quickly and launched my 14 foot boat and drooled at the docks of the empty Boy Scout camp with kids starting school in this NW CT lake. It was very quiet that time in the morning with a couple boats on the water which I prefer greatly. The docks by the camp I figured was a good place to look for good stuff and hunch paid off. Lots of nails and odd assortment of washers and a cool peace ring made of copper (argh not gold). But then, 3-4 inches down in the sand at 6 feet depth, I found a sweet near mint knife which I quickly secured in BCD. 1000ish I took a break and tried again find more coins/lures/weights etc. For some reason I felt the need to surface as if someone was watching. Yup 3 people and one of the three was the care taker of the camp. He said something and could not hear of course and I approached the shore/ docks. He stated he was worried about bubbles and didn't know what I was doing. I politely greeted with a hello and said bubbles are good lol. I asked him if he was caretaker of camp and stated "yup". I said "here you go" with the knife in his hand (no jpeg sorry) and said with a grateful "thank you"! There was a name on it too he stated. It made me feel good it might make back to the Boy Scout who lost it:thumbsup:. Feel free to opine on the weight made of castv iron with the hole through it. Thank you for reading and happy Labor day and God bless the deployed troops.

Sorry the iron metal weight/rod is solid with a hole pierced opposite of sharpen/pointed end through the top. I assumed it was an ole fishing weight. Other people have posted about old fishing weights so I figured I throw it there to see if any bites... Sorry about the puns...lol
