I'll try...

Are there 90% proof halves ? Yes, Philadelphia in 1964 but not what we would call proof today.
How many ridges are there on the circumference of a half dollar? 150
What is the Speed of Dark ? - 299792.458km/sec
Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets ? - "Safety first"?
Are there any recent photographs of dinosaurs ? - No, only antique photos
Can you change a roll of film underwater ? - Yes, in a waterproof darkroom

1992 was the first year of silver proof halves.

PCGS Site
1964's were graded by PCGS as "PR" - Proof. These were the only 90% Proof Kennedy coins.

PCGS Site
Franklins were also graded by PCGS as "PR" - Proof, for almost the entire run.

Your link is the one if you scroll down the page a little further right before the" price changes" you'll see. 90% silver starts in '92 and coninues to '09. Next!

So, are you stating that 1964 Proof Kennedy is NOT a 90% silver proof coin as per the original question (Are there 90% proof halves ?)
Or are you saying this because I did not mention the obvious 1992S - Silver to 2009S - Silver coins in that first post?

Absolutely not. The question was
"Are there 90% proof halves?" your answer and I quote-

I'm simply implying that your reply was incorrect as to the statement in bold red above. icon_deadhorse.gif

Maybe i'm wrong in thinking that you thought the only 90% silver proof Kennedy's were made in 1964, but that sure is the way it's written.

****Nice edit job****

Gocha.

Semantics:
Not everyone regards the 1992+ Proofs the same as the "elders".

"Silver Proofs 1992-S to Date
Note: Beginning in 1992, a number of 1992-S, later also 1993-S, Kennedy half dollars were struck in the old-time silver alloy. These were sold at premiums to collectors. This did not constitute a return to the old coinage standard for general use, but, rather, a special situation. "

...but I see your point.

That's good and all, but why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways? Inquiring minds want to know (well, maybe just me). :tongue3:

Q - Are there 90% Proof Halves?

A - Proof half dollars have been around for a long long time. Prior to 1965 they were all 90%. Starting in 1936, proof coins were offered in sets for the first time. Prior to this you could buy individual coins in proof condition.

Someone also mentioned that prior to 1992 the proofs are "not what we call proof today". They were made the same way from specially prepared dies and blanks, however, the dies were used to strike many more coins. If you happened to get an early strike you got one with frosted devices.

Ok my go....

Are there 90% proof halves ? No. I have never seen one so therefore they do not exist.
How many ridges are there on the circumference of a half dollar? Depends on how many slot machines it has been through.
What is the Speed of Dark ? - Ask Darth Walker I have heard he has spent time on the dark side.
Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets ? - To make themselves more pointy and therefore more dangerous.
Are there any recent photographs of dinosaurs ? - Yes, just do an image search for Helen Thomas.
Can you change a roll of film underwater ? - Yes, but I can't guarantee that your camera or the film will work afterward.
