Brass or Copper Pin?

Dug this out the other day and can't seem to figure out what it is. At first I thought it was maybe a sash buckle but now I'm thinking no because it's to small. Is it possible its an old ladies button ?

You can see where the pin was located.. could have had a backing to it.. maybe it was a broach of some sort.

Yeah after zooming in on the front of it better I can see 4 connection points where a stone or cameo would have sat. Thanks for your help.

Your find is from the Victorian era, and it is a brass frame to a brooch. Judging by the vertical wearing orientation, my best assumption would be for a Cameo.

All the Victorian things I'm finding I've yet to find any silver coin of any kind. Lol
