Finally broke my dry spell and was able to dig up 3 wheaties, a 1909 V nickle, and this 1897 Barber quarter and a 1784 Reale? I'm not sure. Can someone chime in? Never got anything like it before and broke my age record- My oldest before this was a 1787 Ct. Copper!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! Sorry about the spelling- didnt realize! I think it's a half since it's a tad smaller than a us dime. Of course, the other side you can see the R but you can't make out the number before it! This is my first one and if it's my only I'd still be quite happy! I appreciate your input all, I am pretty excited now! I dug up a bee's nest about 10 minutes prior and get stung but I'm glad I sucked it up and kept going!

I'm a little excited!

Nice finds, I found a Reale in a local Norfolk park, I have read a few stories about people finding Reals along the East coast, the 1801 1 Reale I found was only 4" down, under a piece of iron and is my oldest coin to date, I also found a Large (braided hair) Cent in the same park.

I love it when a Yankee tries to tell us how to pronounce a word.

Well, this yankee dont mind a bit. I have a terrible time seeing some words and can't figure out how to say them! All over the internet "Real" is spelled wrong so it's tough~ Thanks all I appreciate it very much!
