I hate, hate, hate these tiny burrs, can't seem to avoid them at this site. Tried clearing paths in the high weeds with a plywood barrel worked pretty well, but was exhausting . ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1506894314.468540.jpg

Found a good amount of decent relics and early wheats. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1506894506.320675.jpg
The piece in the upper right is super ornate, anyone know what this is? ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1506894545.854041.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1506894558.055379.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1506894569.406382.jpg

Silver to wheat ratio; 37:141.

Good luck out there.

It looks like one part of a 'change purse'.

Those beggar lice are a *****. Them and Spanish needles. I wonder if they'll stick to those disposable white coveralls...

I've heard that dragging an old piece of carpet through the area collects them up - maybe you could wrap some around the barrel when you roll it out?

Nice relics. The part your asking about may also be part of a sash buckle of vintage brooch.

So that's what you came up with to tame the jungle :laughing7:

How do you carry that in there?

Nice group of finds BTW

The steam roller is now painted in gloss black and there is a cable towing system that I engineered. A few hundred yards of 4' wide paths now on the hillside. With the knocked down heavy weeds you lose a critical 2-3" of depth so I was mostly pulling larger relics with my detector. A better detector and large coil could do some damage.
